idiots are those who never learn
how then shall I call myself?
who, convinced I have learned,
behave like a fool every now and then?

remaining aware and awake in the grind of life
is by all means not my special trait
oh! how should I keep myself focused and steadfast!
persevering on that wise and golden path?

    1. Thank you for your comment, Cindy. Having read all the Stoics, Epicureans, Taoists and Confucians, and having committed myself to a lifelong learning and a path of wisdom, it is certainly unsettling to find myself behaving unwisely and foolishly. Learning in this life is certainly not a free ride. At least for yours truly…

PS: I have been some days away from WP and the new look came as an unpleasant surprise. I do prefer the old one. Well, OK, I admit that it ma be just me, getting old and uncomfortable with change šŸ˜‰ All the best, Marcus.

  1. Ahh, well. And here I am at 63, a recovering perfectionist, being far kinder and less self recriminating. I think you might find, as I have, that mindfulness is what we can manage – and that it’s enough, as long as our intentions are noble. Life happens. Over and over again. And if we’re still living, we’re still growing. Aloha.
